Besides traditional short term training courses, the Press Institute also uses alternative ways to improve media professionalism through specialist volunteer clubs. These clubs allow journalists with a particular field of interest to get together with other like-minded souls, share information, rally together to improve their professionalism, working conditions and legal environment, and push for more coverage on particular social issues.
